Trapped in the Animation Abyss, Clawing Our Way to the Halfway Mark?

Greetings, fellow film fanatics, and welcome back to the ApoKalypse Diaries, where I offer you a front-row seat to my latest cinematic endeavor. If the past entries have left you amused, fascinated, or possibly aghast, strap in, because the journey into the heart of horror comedy continues.

As many of you know, my name is Lutz, a self-professed child of the VHS era and a devotee of horror comedies. The last two and a half months have felt like an eternity, my friends. The heartbeat of our project – the animation – slowed down to a near stop, as our main animator was entangled in his day job. My spirits fell as I watched our progress crawl, and I confess, I was stricken with a bout of the series blues. But as they say, every cloud has a silver lining.

In our case, the silver lining came in the form of a new freelance animator. His work has been nothing short of extraordinary, and my hopes for our continued collaboration are high. Despite the challenges of operating as a three-person team, we've been striving to make the most of it. To streamline our efforts, I've set up a workflow on Clip It, allowing us to focus on 5-minute segments of the film at a time.

As summer approaches, so does a significant milestone. By the end of June, we aim to hit the 30-minute mark, which would mean half of our movie is complete. With an envisioned runtime of 70 minutes, inclusive of intro and credits, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking of intros, ours is almost ready for you to feast your eyes on. I can hardly wait to share it with all of you. I've also been diving into a series of Moho tutorials, aiming to add my personal touch to the animation soon.

So, dear reader, stay tuned. The ApoKalypse journey continues, and I promise there are more updates to come. Despite the slowdown, our spirit is undeterred. We're trudging ahead, fueled by our love for cinema and our passion for horror comedy.

Just like the unforgettable titles that fuel my love for this genre, we're hoping to craft a cinematic experience that combines horror, comedy, and a hearty dose of passion. Stay tuned for more updates from the ApoKalypse Diaries. The ApoKalypse is coming, and believe me, you won't want to miss it like the glutes of our main character Apo.

Welcome to the ApoKalypse Diaries

G reetings, fellow movie fanatics, and welcome to the ApoKalypse Diaries, where I'll be chronicling the blood, sweat, and tears behind my latest cinematic adventure. Prepare to be dazzled, amused, and possibly horrified as we embark on a journey into the heart of horror comedy. My name is Lutz, and like some of you, I'm a child of the VHS era. I spent countless hours wandering the aisles of video stores, marveling at the endless possibilities of cinematic magic. I vividly remember sneaking into the adult section with my friends, our faces blushing like ripe tomatoes as we hastily retreated from the watchful eyes of the store manager. I was captivated by the likes of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, and Willis, but my true passion lay in horror comedies. From 'Braindead' to 'Tremors', 'Nightmare on Elm Street' to 'What We Do in the Shadows', I devoured every horror comedy I could get my trembling hands on. Who can forget the hilarity of 'Scream',...
